Summer Chinese Institute

The 7th Summer Teacher Institute jointly sponsored by the Confucius Institute and Atlanta Contemporary Chinese Academy will be held at Emory on Aug. 20. The Institute provides theoretical training and practical tips to help raise the level of Chinese instruction in K-12 and other types of schools. This Summer Institute features four Chinese language teaching experts, three sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, and a local teacher.

The one-day training will focus on the following topics: Management of Sunday Chinese schools and the influence of language in cross cultural communications by Prof. Wang Lixia (University of Overseas Chinese); Classroom Chinese for professional Chinese teachers by Prof. Sun Huixing (Yanbian University); Scientific practice in Chinese language instruction by Ms. Liu Yuan (Beijing Shiyan Elementary School); and Making thinking visible by Hu Huixing (The Lovett School).
