Dr. Xu Changhuo (Nanjing University)
Dr. Xu received his Ph. D. in Chinese Philogy from Nanjing University and specializes in teaching Chinese to foreign speakers and Chinese proficiency assessment. Xu joined the faculty of Nanjing University in 1999 and is currently an associate professor in the Institute for Interational Students. Dr. Xu is a member of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching and has authored several books and dictionaries on HSK (Chinese profienct test). He has also published widely on subjects related to Chinese linguistics and teaching Chinese to foreign speakers.
Dr. Zhang Bin (Nanjing University)
Dr. Zhang Bin received his Ph.D. in Chinese Language and Literature from Fudan University. Dr. Zhang joined the faculty of Nanjing University in 2006 and has since taught in the Institute for International Students. Zhang offers a variety of courses on Chinese language and culture, such as spoken Chinese, traditional Chinese literature, Western cultures and traditions. Dr. Zhang specializes in using web-based technology in Chinese language instruction.
Worskshops: The Summer Institute will offer workshops on strategies in teaching Chinese grammar, adopting digital images in Chinese language instruction, image editing for classroom use, designing Chinese proficiency assessment tools, learning culture through characters and phrases, etc. Click here for workshop schedules.
